December 11, 2012:

What you see below is every item ever sold by the Acme Co. to Wile E. Coyote. Has nothing to do with our boy CJ except that he really likes old Warner Bros cartoons, and liked this, and thought everyone else might get a chuckle. Real news soon. He swears it!

November 02, 2012:

Well, things have been a little crazy, what with Cthulhu trying to take out the entire East Coast and all, but life does go on. Our meager proof of that is the announcement of our boy CJ having a story in the upcoming Mermaids 13. The great thing about this story, however, is that not only is it a Challenge of the Unknown story, but it is the final Challenge story, meaning that all those great tales of Marv Richards and his supernatural action news team will be collected and available some time early next year. Oh that CJ, he definitely seems on a roll these days.

September 17, 2012:

Hey everybody, ol’ CJ here. Since I don’t seem to have a convention to attend in Maine anymore, some great guys up there have decided to inflict me on New England once more. Anyone in the area is encouraged to come over for, as they’re calling it—”One night with author CJ Henderson <http://www.facebook.com/cjwrites>  …September 22nd at Dirigo Hobbies <http://www.facebook.com/ DirigoHobbies>  in Yarmouth Maine!” Apparently I’ll be doing readings, Q&A, running a Call of Cthulhu game, and the next morning, hopefully attending “Bacon & Eggs with the Bard” if we can find a diner goofy enough to accommodate us [I'm not holding my breath on that one, but you never know]. So, anyway, if you’re around and got nothing better to do, come do it with us!!

July 20, 2012:

Something we’ve been waiting for. It took the world of entertainment 35 years to introduce Carl Kolchak to the mythos of H.P. Lovecraft, but once that was done by our boy CJ, it happened with a vengeance. First there was his story “What Every Coin Has,” and then the two widevision graphic novels, “Kolchak: the Lovecraftian Horror” and “Kolchak: the Lovecraftian Damnation.” Well, now Moonstone has taken that first story, given it the widevision treatment, and bound it together with the other two into a massive, full color, hardback edition … “Kolchak: Necronomicon.” It’s the ultimate meeting between licensed products, and it’s all our boy CJ. Enjoy!

July 15, 2012:

Just a little preview. Our boy CJ just sold a new Jack Hagee story to the upcoming anthology: “To Hell in a Fast Car.” It’s one of his best ones ever, and we’re pretty excited about that. So, along with just letting you know there’s a new Hagee story coming your way, here’s a peek at the cover art for the book. Enjoy!

July 02, 2012:

Okay, we admit, this one is a bit off, but we just thought we’d get the word out. The first two nights CJ attended this event as a guest, he reported having a swell time. And, from the new line-up, he’s thinking this third time around is going to be swell. So, we’re just doing our part and letting folks know where our boy is going to be at all times. Looks like fun!

June 16, 2012:

Here it is, gang … at long last, the finished cover to the new, never-before seen Teddy London novel! This time around, Teddy has to team up with another supernatural sleuth, namely Lin Carter’s great Anton Zarnak. Why, you ask, would two such powerful characters need to team up together? What could possibly be so terrible that it would take the two of them to stand against it? We’re glad you asked. This time around, our boy might have found the most monstrous menace yet. In this new London novel, Teddy teams up with Zarnak to stand against H.P. Lovecraft’s Herbert West: Reaminator! This is gonna be great, gang! And, it’s going to be available in less than two weeks! Now that’s good news!

May 1, 2012:

Well, at long last, it’s finally going to happen. Contracts and rights and all that stuff has finally been worked out, and the long-awaited, much anticipated, new fourth Teddy London novel is on its way. In this one, London teams up with Lin Carter’s Anton Zarnak to take on HP Lovecraft’s Herbert West: Reanimator. And, just to give you an idea of how swell it is, take a gander at the cover art below. Long time fans of our boy CJ will recognize it as the work of his long-standing collaborator Ben Fogletto. Just checking out the art should let you know this one rocks!

April 26, 2012:

Well, here it comes, yet another Rocky & Noodles story. This one is for the sci fi space anthology: “Space Battles.” Of course, with a musical sci fi series such as the Tales of the Roosevelt which our boy CJ has been doing, what other title could he pick other than “Space Battle of the Bands” … right? Anyway, the editor has set up a nice-sized interview with CJ for this project, and if you follow the link below you can read that, or you can just stare at the beautiful cover art for this swell book. Either way, enjoy!

April 2012:

Well, looks like things are heating up. We just got in the back and front covers for Hellfire Lounge 3: “Jinn Rummy.” Those books must be doing really well for them to have put out a third edition already. But then again, with Battlin’ Ben Fogletto covers, and a story or two by our boy CJ in each one, well … of course they’re selling.

 March 24, 2012

Sorry for not getting new out lately, but with the changes to the website, and trying to keep to the March Madness schedule of getting a new short story up every three days, it’s been a little crazy around here. But, to change that, here’s a first glance at the art for the cover to “Undead and Unbound,” a new collection in which our boy CJ has another story from his comedy news series, “Challenge of the Unknown.”

February 17, 2012

Well, it seems our boy CJ has been accepted into a new cycerpunk mythos anthology … “Eldritch Chrome,” edited by Glynn Owen Barrass and Brian M. Sammons. We have to admit, we’re pretty impressed with the final table of contents, especially when we see so many great female authors attached to the project. And those names are, in no particular order:

Playgrounds of Angolaland – David Conyers, The Blowfly Manifesto – Tim Curran,
SymbiOS – William Meikle, Obsolete, Absolute – Robert M. Price,
Open Minded – Jeffrey Thomas, The Battle of Arkham – Peter Rawlik,
The Wurms In the Grid – Nickolas Cook,
Of Fractals, Fantomes, Frederic and Filrodj – John Shirley,
The Gauntlet – Glynn Barrass and Brian M. Sammons,
Indifference – CJ Henderson, Dreams of Death – Lois Gresh,
Inlibration – Michael Tice, Immune – Terrie Leigh Relf,
Hope Abandoned – Tom Lynch, Sonar City – Sam Stone,
The Place that Cannot Be – D.L. Snell, Flesh & Scales – Ran Cartwright,
Real Gone – David Dunwoody, CL3ANS3 – Carrie Cuinn

We have to admit, we’re looking forward to this one!

February 07, 2012

Here’s an interesting project: three issues, one story. The first issue, the Spider and the Domino Lady work together, then in the second issue, private detective Honey West and Kolchak: the Nightstalker team up. And now, in the third issue, Shanna the She–Devil and Captain Action round out the story, which is then followed up by two bonus stories, one, a Buckaroo Banzai tale, and then a new Kolchak yarn spun by our boy CJ! Sounds like a fun package!

February 02, 2012

Good news for fans of Kolchak graphic novels, Moonstone is reprinting the best ever of their remarkable Kolchak comic series in one massive volume! And, of course, if they’re putting all their best into one package, that means the two that our boy CJ did, “Pain Without Tears” and “Pain Most Human,” a pair of the finest Kolchak: the Nightstalker stories ever done! If you didn’t get these books the first time around, this is the time to grab them!

January 31, 2012

Wow … we’re not sure here what held this one up, word around the office is that our boy CJ turned this book in more than half a year back. But, whatever the reason for the delay, it’s here now. Carl Kolchak, the Nightstalker, finally finds his way to the Lost World. Or maybe just A lost world. One way or the other, it’s Henderson and Kolchak, together again at novel length … two great tastes that go great together!

January 26, 2012

We just had to throw up this unusual flier for a personal appearance our boy CJ is making in Manhattan in February. The disc says it all, so take a look and see if it appeals. We’ll be there, that’s for sure!

December 24, 2011

At long last, our boy CJ and his extremely talented daughter Erica have done a follow-up to their overwhelming hit, Baby’s First Mythos. World Bestiary: A Thorough Account is a compendium of monsters from around the world, lovingly illustrated by Erica, with accompanying, explanatory text from … well … you know who. 100 pages, color, hardback … what more could anyone want?

November 29, 2011

Our boy CJ certainly seems to be all over the revival of the classic pulp character, The Spider: Master of Men. In the first Spider collection he had three stories (while everyone else was limited to but a single tale). He got to write the first of the Spider widevision comics, and soon we’ll be showing you the cover for the new Spider novel he’s written, the first to reach the public in sixty-five years! But, this announcement is for something else we find really cool. Moonstone has gathered together every Spider widevision comic and bound them together in this stunning looking new hardback edition. And, they had our boy write a new Spider adventure in which his aides Nita and Ram Singh take on an army of zombies! Sweet!

November 20, 2011

It had to happen. Moonstone has finally gathered every single Kolchak: the Nightstalker short story ever written and put them together in one stunning new volume. Forty-three stories, all new, no adaptations of episodes, including not only our boy CJ’s classic in which after thirty-five years of neglect, Kolchak finally runs headlong into HP Lovecraft’s mythos, but another great first … Kolchak meets the head vampire from Dark Shadows, Barnabas Collins! Another triumph from Moonstone featuring our boy CJ in the lead story!

October 18, 2011

Hey, Hey … here’s some fun. Moonstone is doing a widevision adaptation of our boy CJ’s first Kolchak: the Nightstalker short story. Whether you’ve seen the story or not before, you’ll get another chance when they reprint it with the art of the fabulous Mr. Hack, the same artist who brought the last of CJ’s Kolchak widevision books to life. Of course, we wouldn’t just tease you about art and not show you some. It’ll be a while before the entire story is done, but for now, here’s the same preview we received. Enjoy.!

October 14, 2011

Our boy CJ sent this clip around to his merry band of mischief makers after his pal, this quite scary ex-intelligence op (honest–he’s like if Mr. Clean and the Loch Ness Monster had a child), passed it on to him. As it’s a message he’s given to so many in his own way to others, he thought … hey, can we link this up so all our hardboiled fans can see it? The clip is from Rocky V, and if this one doesn’t show why Stallone got where he is, then nothing will. Enjoy. Then call your mothers. http://youtu.be/_Z5OookwOoY

August 26, 2011

Hey, Hey! Look at this. Mighty Moonstone is putting our boy CJ’s Jack Hagee novels back into print, starting with the first, “No Free Lunch.” But, more than just releasing these terrific noir novels for the pleasure of the reading public once again, as you can see here, they’re releasing them in both paperback and hardback. We don’t know about you, but we’re really looking forward to sliding that fancy Robert Maguire cover onto our shelves. E-Yow!

August 22, 2011

Big news this time around … “Degrees of Fear” was a collection of the absolute best of our boy CJ’s horror stories. The original publisher went through hundreds of CJ’s tales to find the 18 best, then had him write two new ones exclusive to the collection. It was an instant and immediate hit … which the publisher then let go quickly out of print. To say the least, we were a little confused here. But, confusion is now dispelled as long-time Henderson publisher Marietta has picked up the collection and is making it available once more. With 20 of CJ’s best stories ever, coupled with eight new Ben Fogletto pieces of artwork, it is one of the finest books connected to our boy, and we are jump-up-and-down excited that it’s back in print once more!
