R. ALLEN LEIDER’S HELLFIRE LOUNGE
You would think a book with an author’s name on the front cover would be at least mostly by that author, but not this time. R. Allen Leider, creator of the wildly popular “Wicca Girl,” has acted as editor in this case to put together a collection of horror tales based in the Wicca universe. And, where as he did write the introduction and all the connecting material that joins the stories in this collection together, he only wrote six of the stories, and two of them he wrote with our boy CJ. CJ also wrote one with Richard Dean Starr, and seven on his own for a total of ten tales altogether. This volume contains a number of his hard to find printed-only-once-in-magazine stories, along with four all new ones! Funny, scary, and waiting for you!
Sometimes, the last man standing, is a woman. For you fans of hardboiled dames, this is the one you’ve been waiting for. 15 tales of murder, revenge and wholesale slaughter. And, just look at this line-up: Michael Black, Fleur Bradley, Terrence Butler, Max Allan Collins, Art Cosing, Wayne Dundee, Ed Gorman, Pearce Hansen, Arlette Lees, Lonni Lees, Gary Lovisi, Vin Packer, Cindy Rosmus, John Sunseri, and of course, our own loveable C.J. Henderson! This one comes with a vintage cover by the famed Robert Maguire with interior illustrations by everyone’s favorite, Battlin’ Ben Fogletto! One hell of a book.
WEREWOLVES DEAD MOON RISING
Just in time for the next dark and stormy night in your neighborhood, Moonstone Books gives the world thirteen tales of howling horror. The anthology takes great care to present every facet of the werewolf legend. There’s no repetition here, or any lack of fun from writers across the spectrum–”Star Wars” writer Beau Smith and “Spider-Man” chronicler David Michilinie, to the creator of “Action Philosophers,” Fred Van Lente and noir master Christopher Mills, as well as all the rest, and our own CJ. Also: as with all the Moonstone books, each story comes with its own illustration, this time from the remarkably talented Ken Wolak.
THE DEAD WALK AGAIN
Three years ago the world of horror was bowled over when famed zombie editor Vince Sneed put together “The Dead Walk,” the book that many call the definitive zombie collection of all time! Now, with that book out of print, and zombie fans around the world screaming for more, Sneed has once more come forth and assembled another unbelievable collection of first rate tales of the walking dead, suitable titled, “The Dead Walk Again.” It’s zombies in every way you know and love them, served up by Nate Southard, Steven A. Roman, John L. French, D.J. Kirkbridge, Adam P. Knave, Bruce Gehweiler, Laszlo Xalieri, Patrick Thomas, the always irrepressible Jack Dolphin, and as you probably already guessed, our boy C.J. And, a special note, C.J.’s tale debuts his character, the Pirate Queen, an international master thief who will be playing a major role in the soon to be released novel, “The Sleep That Rescues,” the first new Teddy London novel in over a decade!
NEW MYTHOS LEGENDS
HP Lovecraft’s influence on modern horror is well known. Here are sixteen tales by some of the genre’s best new writers. It’s the book Ellen Datlow called “an excellent anthology of mostly original and quite varied Lovecraftian stories.” Featuring three stories by CJ Henderson, as well as tales by Jeffrey Thomas, Don D’Ammassa, Hugh B. Cave, WH Pugmire, Tom Piccirilli and more.
